Nebraska: The Things You Don't Know

Many people are ambivalent to Nebraska. A common question: what's so great about it? It is understandable that one may be uncertain of Nebraska's quality of life, as due to its flatness and endless fields of corn and grains. It's not talked about often and when it is, only the typical agricultural aspects are detailed. It's a sad thing because Nebraska is a great state to live in. The facts and details listed in this article may help to clear the mystery and spur an interest in the CornHusker State.

There Are Good Business Long Distance Call Plans

One of the consequences of owning a large or small business is being forced to pay a huge phone bill. A company cannot survive without communication, so you, the business owner, unhappily pay the towering bill, devouring a good portion of your profits. There is no need for this. Today, there are a host of different plans to accommodate your budget. You will be charged a meager 3-10 cents per minute, whether you are calling within the United States or outside the borders. The great thing is that such plans can be customized to the needs of your business, so you will not have to pay for unnecessary features. If you are contemplating moving to Nebraska, and have a small business, utilize them.

Omaha Is a Great Place to Live

Omaha is one of the great Midwestern cities. You don't have to take my word for it; ask any of its 400, 000 residents. Aside from the citizens, there are many corporations and organizations (some of Warren Buffet's ventures are headquartered there), a slew of national parks and attraction sites (Henry Doorly Zoo is in Omaha), and the beautiful bits of culture (the city is no stranger to jazz.) Indeed, it is a shame that Omaha is tucked away; there are no other cities like it.

The Reuben Sandwich, Kool-Aid, and Warren Buffet

Admittedly, the reuben sandwich, which some claimed to have been born in Nebraska, is more of urban legend (if the sandwich really was created here, an awesome factoid it would be). However, Nebraska is the cradle of both Kool-Aid and Warren Buffet. And, while the birthplace of Kool-Aid (1929) seems inconsequential, the residents of Nebraska are not shy about telling someone this quirky fact; it's a great conversation starter, to say the least. On a more serious note, Warren Buffet, nicknamed the Oracle of Omaha, got his start in Nebraska; as he is one of the richest men in the world, Nebraska should be quite proud of its native son.

The best way to learn about any place is to visit it, and Nebraska is no exception. Don't be shy, give it a try. Who knows? Nebraska may be your match.
