The Best Cities?
Before we delve into Columbus (Ohio's capital city), it's best to make room for Cleveland. Cleveland is Ohio's lovable loser. Okay, the moniker may be a bit harsh, but after one colossal defeat after another, Cleveland has been stigmatized as the city that can never claim a sports championship. The Browns (the football team) is only one of the four teams in the NFL who has never went to the Superbowl. The Indians (the baseball team) haven't one a World Series since 1948. The Cavaliers (the basketball team) teased the world by repeatedly making it into the playoffs—but LeBron James left town.
While Clevelanders are incessantly subjected to this kind of misfortune, it has been a city on the rise. With tourist attractions like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the spectacular Cleveland Botanical Garden, it is easy to see why.
Columbus, Ohio is the capital city and, like Cleveland, it is on the move. It has the highest population of any city of Ohio and is home to Ohio State University. And seeing that Ohio is “Buckeye Nation,” many people see the need to visit the stadium where the school team plays football. Arguably, the Ohio State Buckeyes act as the entertainment-epicenter of the state.
Why Ohio Is Important
It is befitting that one of Ohio's nickname's is the Mother of All Presidents, because the state is so pivotal in election. Winning or losing it can make or break campaign. Ohio is a swing state, and the candidates that it endorses (usually) have a stronger chance of winning an election.
